Ring Christmas Bells! Cell Phone Ringtones for Christmas

This is the season to buy gifts for your family, smell the holly and evergreen, and eat lots of seasonal goodies. If you’re in the mood for Christmas, shouldn’t your cell phone be in the mood too? You can get some great Christmas ringtones for your cell phone, and get yourself and everyone around you in the mood of the season. Best of all, more and more of the new ringtones are moving toward the realistic true tones, and the ones that aren’t true tones are mostly polyphonics. No more tinny “It Came Upon A Midnight Clear” for you!

What’s more, if there’s a Scrooge on your Christmas list, you can help get him or her in the mood for the season by sending a ringtone to their cell phone. It’s one of the latest and greatest way of letting someone know you care about them.

You can get the following types of Christmas ringtones for your cell phone:

Fun songs. You want “Mr. Hanky the Christmas Poo” from South Park? You’ll find it here. Or maybe you want something unique: how about a techno remix of “The Little Drummer Boy?” Whatever your preference, you can find a perfect Christmas ringtone to express your joy in the season.

Traditional favorites. If your favorite Christmas song is “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” you’re in luck. This and dozens of other traditional Christmas songs can be downloaded to your cell phone as ringtones.

Religious favorites. Your favorite song is “What Child Is This?” You prefer the songs you sang in church as a child to the modern ones that seem to negate the true meaning of Christmas? You can find the songs you remember and love today as ringtones you can put on your cell phone.

Instrumental songs. Because of the limitations still inherent in even the best ringtones, the ones that sound the best are the ones that are primarily instrumental. You can find a fantastic version of “Ave Maria” for your cell phone, or you can find “Ring Christmas Bells” and other old favorites.

International Christmas Music. You want something really different that translates well to a polyphonic ringtone format? Try one of the “Christmas at Bali” ringtones, which translates a Christmas favorite into an Oriental sound, using unusual sounds and blended background noises to make your ringtone the coolest one around. Or you can try “Christmas in Palestine,” or “Russian Christmas,” depending on what you really like.

You may want something else to go with your ringtones. You can find great wallpapers and screensavers with Christmas themes as well as your ringtone themes. Whether you want St. Nick on your phone, Garfield in Christmas attire, or the soft beauty of a Thomas-Kinkaid-style Christmas landscape, you can find it. Put together the perfect theme, with wallpaper, screensaver, and ringtone, and send it to the ones you love in lieu of a Christmas card.

However you want to use your Christmas ringtones, they’re there for you. Celebrate Christmas in style with the best ringtones on your phone.

In today’s day and age, a person’s cell phone is as much of a fashion statement as their hairstyle or clothing choices. Cell phone ringtones and wallpaper are two very popular ways to customize your cellular phone and differentiate yourself from the pack. So what exactly are ringtones?

Ringtones are customized ringers that you can assign to your cell phone. They can be funny sounds, favorite songs, animal noises, a famous line from a movie, etc. and are available for purchase at many sites on the Internet. Ringtones are a lot of fun, especially if you choose one that is particularly humorous. Getting a phone call while standing in line at the grocery store has never been more fun!

The second way that you can easily customize your cell phone is with custom wallpaper. If you’re not familiar with what this is, just picture it as a background for your cell phone screen. Hopefully this article has given you a few easy ways to customize your cell phone and express yourself. In my opinion, you should think of your cell phone as an extension of your personality and make it interesting! Once you tackle the basics of customizing your cell phone with ringtones and custom wallpaper, you can move on to things like custom skins, cases, and more.

Truth be told, there’s no reason for anyone to suffer with the standard, boring, century-old traditional telephone ringtone that is standard on most cellular phones. Through the miracle of the internet, anyone can access great cell phone ringtones to showcase their own unique style, hobbies, and interests.

Where Cell Phone Ringtones Come From

There are actually a ton of places where you can get cell phone ringtones. If you’re really technologically talented, you can copy songs and load them onto your cell phone yourself. Most of us, though, don’t have the knowledge or the patience for that.

It’s very easy to set a ringtones on your mobile phone. Some monophonic ringtones already placed in your mobile PHONE by the company as an extra added feature. But to have more ringtones for your mobile, you can download ring tones from the Internet. There are thousands of ringtones available on many websites.

The first thing is to find out the ringtone of your choice and then picking up the good one which is compatible with your mobile model. There are some sites that charge you for downloading ringtones and some offer free ringtone facility. Once you decide upon a ringtone, have a preview and test it and then save it in your mobile’s memory.

Most of us are best off hitting the internet for unique ringtones. The internet gives you access to literally thousands of cell phone ringtones—everything from rude noises to exhaust sounds to classical music or your favorite tune.

On the internet, ringtones are available both for free and for a small fee. Either way, there is little expense involved in getting a unique ringtone for your cell phone, and the minimized effort is usually well worth the minimized price.

Why A New Cell Phone Ringtone?

It’s true that all cell phones come standard with a ringtone. Many even come with a few ringtone options. So why bother replacing your ringtone with one (or more) you download online?

Here are some of the top reasons to get a new cell phone ring tone:

• Personal ringtones let you personalize your sound, so your phone is more recognizable in a crowd (this answers the question—is that you or me?)

• Several cell phone ringtones allow you to set one specific ringtone for each of your most common callers; that way, you never have to look to see who is calling or decide whether to hit ’send’ or ’silence’.

• Personal ringtones let you show off your tastes and styles without ever having to say a word.

• A variety of cell phone ringtones allow you to change your ringtone to suit your mood (or your company).

• Customized ring tones allow you to replace bothersome, annoying ringtones with more appealing and/or soothing sounds.

• New cell phone ringtones are just plain fun!

Now what better reason could there be than that?

Whatever your reason, there is a huge selection of cell phone ringtones available on the internet for little or no money. These are tones that you can use to personalize your sound, show off a bit, or just play around with. Custom ringtones are all the ‘rage’ right now, and their popularity has made easy access to unique ringtones simple.

Pimp Your Phone

December 21st, 2009

It is not out of the ordinary these days to go to a supermarket, drug store, bowling alley or even a doctor’s or dentist’s office and hear a whole chorus of musical samples each competing with each other. Some may only be tones in a sequence. However, other samples may actually be excerpts from popular songs. You guessed it. These are all ring tones for cell phones.

There are millions of Americans who own cell phones, and many people are always on the lookout for unique ring tones that will stand out above the crowd. When cell phones were not very popular, it was easy for a person to get several different ringing options. Today there are thousands of ring tones available. There is bound to be a ring tone for you that will suit your taste as well as your budget.

A person’s choice is limited in ring tones only in so far as it has to be one that his or her cell phone supports. If you happen to have an older phone, it may only support a monophonic ring tone. This means that it only plays one note at a time. Then a new generation of ring tones came upon the scene which was known as a polyphonic variety. This is a ring tone that offers more complex sounding songs than that of the monophonic version. Instead of only a single line of music, this ring tone allows harmony.

If you have a newer model of cell phone which has polyphonic ring tone capability, then you have a vastly greater choice of ring tones. The newer cell phones may also play MP3s which allows you to use a song’s actual recording. They sound much like the recording on the radio and are extremely popular with the younger crowd. It will also add a unique sound to your cell phone. However, the polyphonic ring tones do closely resemble instrumental melody and harmony. These ring tones are usually longer and a wide variety of titles are available.

A person may just decide that he or she is satisfied with the ring tones that come with his or her cell phone, or the decision may be made to purchase extras. You are able to purchase other ring tones online through your cell phone’s manufacturer. They may also be available through your service carrier. You simply download the ring tones onto your cell phone, and then you can choose whichever tone you want from the menu.

In the beginning of the cell phone era ring tones were just simple tunes. Some of them were specific to the phone’s manufacturer, there were public domain tunes and there were some that were monophonic versions of classical music. The manufacturers did not have to worry about paying any licensing fees so these became very popular. However, as time progressed, people wanted to individualize their cell phones with their own unique ring tones. Therefore, manufacturers began to offer polyphonic ring tones and then the MP3 ring tones followed.

Today, you can get just about any tune as a ring tone for your cell phone. You can get such selections as classical, heavy metal, country, jazz, pop, soul, rap and swing. All you need to do is go to your service provider’s website, select you make and model of cell phone and begin choosing ring tones. There are also many sites on the Internet that offer ring tones. Just do a Google search and you will find plenty of them. Most ring tones are rather inexpensive so it’s one good way to personalize your cell phone.

Everything You Need To Know

December 21st, 2009

If you’ve browsed the internet at all, you’ve likely seen many advertisements for ringtones. Some of them are free, some are not. Of course, they are ringtones for your mobile phone. Other phones just use plain ringtones, and are usually not customizable.

Mobile phone manufacturers originally designed mobile phones with customizable ringtones so that you could easily tell if if it was your phone ringing when you’re with a group of people. Things change though, and mobile phone ringtones are now much more than a convenience – they are an art form, even a fashion statement (“I’m cooler than you ’cause my ringtone is cooler than yours…”).

Mobile phone ringtones come in three basic varieties:

Monotone: Most monotone ringtones are something akin to your plain old ring that you might find on a touch tone phone. Or perhaps they are a beep, beep, beep. Either way, these are your Plain Jane ring tones.

Polyphonic: These ringtones use multiple tones to create melodies. Polyphonic, of course, just means “many sounds”. Polyphonic ringtones are usually MIDI files. MIDI files are not actual audio files. Instead a MIDI file is a set of instructions that tell the player (in this case your phone) what instrument sounds to play and when. Polyphonic ringtones are a great upgrade on standard ringtones, but they still don’t really sound like a real audio recording.

MP3: These are the Rolls-Royce of ringtones. They are actual MP3 audio files of the original recording. You can usually purchase and download to your phone MP3 ringtones of your favorite songs for a couple dollars each. They will sound nearly identical to the original recording, just lower quality. The recordings are also often edited to make them suitable for use as a ringtone.

Customized ringtones can provide you a lot of fun with your phone – you can make your phone “you” with ringtones.

What Ringtones Say About You

December 21st, 2009

You can tell a lot about people by the ringtones they choose. Here, a look at some of the popular ringtones categories and what they just might.

If you choose the ringtone that came with your cellphone…

Individuals who stick with the ringtones that came with their phones are very interested in keeping things the same. They aren’t into taking minor or major risks; in fact, they would prefer that everything remain at the same level. They might not be found jumping out of airplanes, but they also are less likely than others to wind up in the emergency room with a broken leg.

If you choose a popular song for your ringtone…

Those who like ringtones that resemble the music of popular culture are most interested in keeping up with the status quo. They like to be “in” and probably watch all the top rated television reality shows. By playing “hip” music as ringtones, they are basically telling the world that they are “in the know.” Of course, they usually set their ringtones to “loud”; otherwise, they’d never be heard in the disco.

If you choose an old song for your ringtone…

Those who pick ringtones that sound like songs from their youths are very nostalgic. They like talking about “when they were a kid”, and will regale family and friends of stories of when they were youngsters. When their phones ring, their ringtones of choice make them smile as they remember their pasts.

If you choose a popular TV show theme for your ringtone…

Do you find yourself plopped in front of the big screen television every night? If so, your ringtones are probably going to reflect that fact. That way, your ringtones will turn your cellphone into a veritable “conversation piece.” Every time you get a call, you can start a discussion about your fave sitcom or drama.

If you choose a made-up ringtone…

You are undoubtedly an artist if your ringtones were composed by you or a musical friend. Unsatisfied with being “part of the crowd”, you need to stand out from the rest. Thus, you’ve invented your own ringtones. Because you have such an entrepreneurial spirit, you might want to consider selling your ringtones and making a few bucks; but, of course, that would require that you change your ringtones so they don’t sound like anyone else’s.

If you choose no ringtones at all…

It’s not common, but there are those who prefer not to have any ringtones at all. Instead, they set their cell phones to “vibrate” or they simply put them on “silent”. These folks don’t want to be bothered by petty phone calls and instead would prefer to “screen” every call that comes to them. The control these individuals feel over having no ringtones trumps the fact that they could miss an important phone call.

The next time you hear some distinctive ringtones, be sure to pay attention. Those ringtones might just be saying something important about the person carrying the cell phone.

Have Fun With iPhone Ringtones

December 21st, 2009

At one time, you could use only iTunes for your iPhone ringtones. This was okay but not very creative. Now, you can use a software program, such as Garage, to create and customize your own iPhone ringtones. When you are able to use your own audio files to create iPhone ringtones, this gives you a chance to have more fun while you customize your ringtones.

When you first think of iPhone ringtones, songs may be the first thing that come to mind. You should realize that with a little tinkering, you can produce iPhone ringtones from many types of audio files besides music. You can use your own recordings made of voices, real life sounds, recordings from movies and television shows. When you consider the entire array of sounds and music that can be used, you will be able to customize your ringtones to each of your callers perfectly.

If you already make your own audio files, you may already have a few audio files in mind. You just have to match the audio with the caller. You can use MP3s with Garage or other audio ringtone software to create iPhone ringtones. This ability means that you could record your child or someone else telling you to answer the phone and use that audio file as your ringtone for that person.

You will have a few main categories of callers for whom you can develop themes. You have family, friends and work related caller, for starters. If you want to go further than that; you could develop iPhone ringtones to identify each individual caller. But, if you are going to create a ringtone for each of these main groups instead, you would choose a song or sound that you thinks represents that group’s personality best.

When it comes to family callers, there are many sit-coms that feature family members including “The Simpsons” or “Arrested Development from which you could record voices or music. You may want to choose a theme from an afternoon soap opera if you think that represents your family better.

For children, consider using the theme song from the child’s favorite television program. You could use the sound such as a squeaky rubber duck or the sound of a ball bouncing. If your child admires nature, he or she may like it if you have a bird call or duck quack as their ringtone.

When it comes to friends, it can be easy to pick your friends’ favorite songs. You can get their help when it comes to picking your friend’s favorite song. This will help you to remember whose ringtone is calling you. Perhaps, your friend has a movie or television character that they really like and whom you think would be a good match for your friend.

When your boss or work colleagues call you, you should use music or sound that is more serious, especially if your boss might hear it someday. If fact, your boss might like it if you picked an adventure themed audio for his or her calls as it makes it look as if you think that they lead an exciting life. You are the best judge of what would work best for this category.

Renting Movies Online

December 21st, 2009

Have you started using an online movie rental service yet? These days, renting movies by mail is fast becoming the standard way of watching movies at home.

If you’re like most people, you find it a hassle to drive to your local video store, spend time choosing a new release that isn’t completely rented out, stand in line, and then drive back to the store after you’ve finished watching the movie just to return it. And this is not to mention the frustrating aggravation of paying late fees if you’re late returning a movie by even a few hours.

The good news is, using an online movie rental service is a much more convenient option now being offered to anyone with a computer and an Internet connection. By renting movies online, you can rent movies entirely from the comfort of your own home, with your choice of a huge selection of DVDs shipped right to your door within one or two business days. And with no late fees applied, you will never have to worry about returning movies on time, allowing you to keep them around until you actually have time to watch them. They’ll be no more need to return a movie without having had the time to watch it.

It’s also much cheaper to rent movies by utilizing online movie rentals, especially if you rent numerous movies every month. Most online movie rental services let you choose from a variety of plans that determine the number of DVDs you can have rented out at any given time, which typically range from one to four. These days, these plans all fall around $20 a month or less. By quickly returning movies as soon as you watch them, you can actually rent quite a large number of movies each month all for this one flat fee. Compare this to the typical five dollars or so it costs to rent a movie in a movie rental store, and you’ll see that your savings can quickly add up.

To use an online movie rental service, all you have to do is log into your account and select a wishlist of movies you want to see over the upcoming months. Each time you finish watching a movie, just put it in your mailbox in a provided return envelope, and the next available title on your wishlist will be shipped out to you within a day or two. Just keep your wishlist stocked full of titles you want to watch and movies will keep arriving on your doorstep on a continual basis. Most online movie rental services offer free shipping for both deliveries and returns.

Many of the top online movie rental service are offering free trials these days in order to entice new customers, so check one out and see what you think. You can always cancel your free trial if you aren’t satisfied, and pay nothing. But chances are, once you try renting movies online, you’ll never go back to the old way of renting movies.
